· Deployed 230 Oxygen Concentrators and approximately 3000 pieces of 02C Accessories, Oximeters, Thermometers in Covid Care Centres in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Punjab, Assam & Tamil Nadu.
· Food Relief to the sick and needy, impacted COVID or the ongoing lockdowns in many provinces.
· Performing the onerous tasks of cremations and last rites of passage for the victims whose bodies go unclaimed.
· Vaccination Drives and subsidizing vaccination for frontline volunteers and the needy.
· Supplying masks, sanitizers, medicines and sanitization drives in impacted areas.
· Support costs for setup and operations of COVID Care CentresFor long term relief in anticipation of future waves of COVID.Sewa Canada International has setup 8 Oxygen plants and distribution system for medical Oxygen at budget hospitals in rural, under-served areas, serving the under-privileged.To improve medical infrastructure in remote hospitals and make access to hospital easier Sewa Canada has provided three fully equipped Ambulances and over $100,000 worth of life saving medical equipment in remote/rural hospitalsWe are now working on mitigating the long term social impacts on the marginalized, the under-privileged, widows and children who have lost parents or lost the only breadwinner in the family.

- Sewa Canada International and its partners in India with support from its partners organizations worldwide is working on the basis of a T-model intervention for providing relief during this pandemic. Breadth: Awareness, Essentials and Digital HelpDesk. Depth: Oxygen, and Vaccination.

Sewa International has started COVID Care Centres in hot spots in different parts of India. These centres provide isolation and source of oxygen to sick patients, who do not require hospitalization. Many more are being setup at rapid pace. One such site in the process of being initiated & supported via Sewa Canada is the Dr. Ambedkar Trust, is in the tribal areas of Dang in Gujarat with a capacity of 32+ beds.
- Sewa International in India is operating operations across 20+ provinces in India. On this page, we will focus mostly and bring you updates on your donations at work, supported by Sewa Canada International. These comprise areas assigned to Sewa Canada International, by Sewa International in India based on requirements and coordination with other partner organizations.
- 300 volunteers from Seva Bharati Gujarat (one of our partner organizations in India) are serving COVID patients at the Civil hospital in Ahmedabad. 100 volunteers in 3 batches are doing 8 hour shifts providing care and medications to patients. This effort is supported by Sewa Canada International Inc.

- Sewa Canada placed orders for shipment of one hundred Jay-10 Oxygen Concentrators to be shipped to 2 of our volunteer organizations in Gujarat & Bengaluru. Wire transfer of payment to overseas vendor was done via ICICI Bank Canada earlier today.

- Expanded our support/relief activities into Madhya Pradesh & Chhattisgarh states & soon expanding into Kerala. This is in addition to ongoing support by Sewa Canada in state of Gujarat & Bengaluru.
- In all of these states our partner orgs on the ground Sewa Bharati has setup COVID Care Centres.
- Volunteers are also providing food to the vulnerable who have lost incomes due to lockdowns.
- Volunteers are also helping promote and take people to vaccination programs.
- Volunteers are facilitating last rites and cremations of victims – the hardest on our volunteers.
- In Bengaluru, our partners are running a mobile O2 concentrator service, taking oxygen concentrators to the homes of the needy
- Covid Care Centre setup in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, by Sewa Bharti and manned by its volunteers…serving COVID patients, supported via Sewa Canada International.

Today another COVID Care Centre was opened by Sewa Bharati Madhya Pradhesh at Dabra. Sewa Bharati repurposed one of its residential school premises for this purpose. Anyone suffering from COVID in the vicinity of Dabra who does not have facility to quarantine or self isolate themselves can avail of the services at this centre, totally free of cost. Those in need can call the numbers mentioned above.
Updates on May 9th 2021
- The first shipment of 50 O2 concentrators landed in New Delhi and are currently enroute to the provinces of Madhya Pradesh & Gujarat.
- The next batch of 50 O2 concentrators is expected to land from overseas in Mumbai in the next couple of day, followed by another batch of 25 O2 concentrators – to be deployed in city of Bengaluru & province of Kerala.
- In total 125 O2 concentrators are enroute to their destinations, while we have placed an order for 75 more, for a total of 200.
- Based on our fundraising so far, we are now able to expand our immediate relief activities of support into province of Manipur, Rest of Karnataka, remote Tribal areas of Gujarat and Punjab (TBC soon) i.e. do more.

Relief activities and use of Oxygen Concentrators for the needy continue in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur & Punjab. Support extended this week to Tamil Nadu & Assam (Total of 10 states now)
- 100% of out of the initial batch of 205 concentrators have been deployed.
- We received SOS message for help from rural Tamil Nadu, rural Assam and rural Madhya Pradesh.
- Within a week we were able to turn around and begin delivering 25 additional Concentrators in these 3 states
- 20 out of the 25 additional concentrators have been delivered.
- While 8 have been deployed at Government Hospital in Karaikudi; 7 have been deployed in Tiruchirappalli COVID Care Centre in under privileged communities.
- 5 Concentrators were airlifted to Assam today; while 5 more are enroute to rural Madhya Pradesh by road.
- Since last week the remaining concentrators and accessories were deployed in Manipur, Kerala and tribal areas of Southern Gujarat.
- 1000 triple layered cloth masks with a filter in between were provided to 2 very remote villages in tribal areas of Southern Gujarat.
- This was part of COVID awareness campaign.
- 100 underprivileged daily wage families were supplied with kits of fresh nutritious vegetables during current lockdown in Ernakulam, Kerala
- This week we are working on ordering ventilators and dialysis equipment in Covid wards of rural & low budget hospitals
- This week we are also ordering 2 ambulances for remote tribal areas where patients passed away before getting to a hospital due to lack of ambulances in that area.
- Work on identifying hospitals where O2 plants can be installed is still in progress
- Though not part of this campaign, our team has also been involved with similar work in Nepal and getting equipment in there to save lives.

Relief activities and use of Oxygen Concentrators for the needy continue in Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Punjab, Tamil Nadu & Assam (Total of 10 states)
- 100% of out of 230 Oxygen concentrators have been deployed.
- Residual deployments in rural Punjab & rural Maharashtra were completed.
- Demand for use of Concentrators in rural areas in North Eastern India and Southern India is higher; while demand is decreasing in other regions
- Food relief kits, PPE kits, medical kit distribution and sanitization drives are still going on in impacted areas
- Order for Dialysis equipment in Covid ward in a rural hospital in Maharashtra placed with vendor.
- Order for 2 ambulances for remote tribal areas (of Madhya Pradesh & Manipur) where patients passed away before getting to a hospital due to lack of ambulances in that area.
- Two sites – one in Karnataka and another in rural Gujarat identified for installing 250LPM O2 plants.
- Our team continues to do similar work in Nepal, saving lives.

- A 1.5 hour interactive online presentation to our donors and supporters on our work so far, now and beyond was hosted on 20th June 2021, 9:00 pm EDT. All of our donors and supporters were invited.
- The presentation included expression of gratitude to all of our donor and fundraising partners, details of work so far, in progress and beyond – on this project
- Financials on the spent so far and that budgeted for long term relief work was shared with the attendees for transparency. 100% of all the funds have been assigned to relief work on the ground.
- Some of our fundraising partners in Canada presented testimonials on their experience and working together in the relief efforts
- We also had representatives of our partners on the ground in India who joined us in this event and took questions from the attendees on the work and situation there.

Updates on July 31st 2021
One of the learnings during COVID-19 second wave was the lack of adequate ambulances especially in rural and tribal areas to get patients to hospitals. With this in mind Sewa Canada International is providing 3 ambulances to serve patients now and prepare for future waves. The first of those Ambulances was delivered to Sewa Bharati Madhya Bharat, in the province of Madhya Pradesh.

Continuing with our plan of improving the medical infrastructure, our work continued to provide approximately CAD$ 30,000 worth equipment to various hospitals in the remote Eastern province of Manipur in India. The equipment included multi para monitors, Mobile ECG Machines, Pulse Oximeters, Fogger machines, Ambu bag, Suction pumps etc
Sewa Canada International provided CAD$ 20,000 worth of medical equipment to Sreevalsam Institute Of Medical Sciences, Edapal, Malappuram. This is part of Sewa Canada International’s CAD$ 63,000 aid to Kerala alone, amidst the larger ongoing COVID-19 Relief Work in India.

Ongoing Social or Community Projects
We are now working on mitigating the long term social impacts of COVID-19 pandemic on the marginalized, the under-privileged, widows and children who have lost parents or lost the only breadwinner in the family. We have reserved the last 10% of our total funding for social causes related to the Pandemic. These projects are underway in various provinces of India namely Karnataka, Assam, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and with probable inclusion of additional locations, depending on funding situation. The focus areas currently are –
- Empowerment through education & skills training.
- Small scale Self Employment/ Entrepreneurship training & seed funding.
- Self- Development amongst youth, children and women.
