NAR SEWA NARAYAN SEWA
(Service to humanity is service to God)

This campaign has ended. Final report to be updated shortly

Bi-Weekly Report on 5th May 2020In the last two weeks, we have expanded our work to provide relief to approximately 400 needy families. We have also expanded our relief work to Kathmandu & district of Makwanpur, apart from covering new areas in and around Pokhara. This has engage youth volunteers in these respective districts. Local government officials supervise and preside over the distribution by our volunteers. Our small band of volunteers at Youth for Seva Nepal supported by Sewa Canada International Aid Inc. have been punching above their weight for the last 3 weeks. Permission from the government to provide aid, scouting/screening to identify needy families & locations, procurement, packing into kits, transportation, distribution, coordination with government etc etc….doing it all by themselves to keep overheads to almost nothing. Putting themselves at risk, these youth are an inspiration to many. They also donated PPE equipment, hand sanitizers, food and refreshments to security personnel working hard to enforce the lockdown.

With the lockdown extended in Nepal, we are working to sustain the relief work for longer duration. This requires more funding and hence any help to enable our volunteers to do more is appreciated. We would also like to express our gratitude to our donors who have helped us raise about CAD$ 5000 for this effort.
