Serving Nepal – Emergency Ambulance Service

NAR SEWA NARAYAN SEWA
(Service to humanity is service to God)

Sewa Canada sponsored Emergency Ambulance Service operated by our partner organization in Nepal, Youth For Seva Nepal, was inaugurated on December 7th 2019, at Pokhara. This Emergency Ambulance Service currently serves under-privileged communities in rural Kaski and the city of Pokhara, In January 2020, the Ambulance was updated with more equipment and has been making runs within Kaski district and to distant Kathmandu as well.

This service prioritizes services for remote under-served villages in Kaski district. This is done by establishing contacts in these villages. They have also been able to partner with surrounding hospitals, for requirement of Ambulance services for patients

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Emergency Ambulance Service has been very busy transporting needy patients to hospitals anywhere, as required. The ambulance was again updated with partitions and other required measures, in April 2020, to meet the Government guidelines for transporting COVID-19 patients.

Youth For Seva Nepal, our partner in Nepal, is registered charity in Nepal and focuses engaging its next generation in self-development and serving Nepal. Their young volunteer team on the ground had to overcome many challenges to establish this service.

This service has been made possible by the generosity of our donors in Canada, as part of the Nepal Earthquake Relief & Reconstruction Project. Gratitude to all of Sewa Canada International’s donors in Canada, who contributed to this noble cause, and thank you for your patience as we made sure every dollar of your donation went directly to the cause.
