SUNGAVA HOMES in Kathmandu is a registered charity in Nepal and home to intellectually challenged girls and women. It provides daycare, vocational training, skill development programs, domestic skills training, literacy programs and creative activities to them.
Last year in August 2022, Sewa Canada International along with it collaborative partners NRNA Canada, NHCF Canada and NAFA completed the renovation and construction work for a home for the girls .
Many of their students are facing difficulties accessing Sungava Homes due to the lack of reliable transportation options. This leads to irregular attendance, educational gaps and limited social interaction. A dedicated school van will ensure safe and consistent transportation, maximizing their students and better educational experience and overall development.

Hence, Sewa Canada International in collaboration with NRNA Canada is looking to contribute towards providing a dedicated van to enhance mobility and independence of these intellectually challenged girls and women at Sungava Homes. In order to . In order to reduce operational cost for Sungava Homes and provide an environment friendly option, the proposal is to provide an Electric mini-van. The electric mini van costs approximately C$ 50,000.
Sewa Canada International in collaboration with NRNA Canada is looking to raise C$ 35,000 to contribute to this cause. The rest of the funding will be raised by Sungava Homes via their charity partners.
