Help Nepal Conquering Second Wave of COVID-19

During the second wave of COVID-19 in May 2021, Nepal faced a severe healthcare crisis, following the peak of the pandemic in neighboring India. With a fragile healthcare system and insufficient vaccines, the situation in Nepal was dire. Sewa Canada International, along with its global partners, was one of the first to provide immediate relief on the ground.

How did Sewa Canada International help during Nepal's second wave of COVID-19?

Watch the video for a summary of Sewa Canada’s $1 million "Helping Nepal Conquer 2nd Wave of COVID-19" campaign, which highlights efforts across two key areas:

  • Immediate Oxygen Relief: Provided oxygen concentrators, cylinders, and essential medical supplies to COVID-19 care centers.
  • Long-Term Medical Infrastructure Improvement: Focused on upgrading healthcare facilities across Nepal from June 2021 to July 2022, ensuring that hospitals and medical centers were better prepared for future waves.

Sewa Canada International extends heartfelt gratitude to the KY Ho Foundation and other generous donors, whose contributions were instrumental in delivering aid to the victims and strengthening Nepal’s medical infrastructure for the long term.
