SUNGAVA HOMES in Kathmandu, Nepal, is a registered charity dedicated to supporting intellectually disabled girls and women. It provides them with daycare, vocational training, literacy, domestic skills, and creative development programs to help them live with dignity and independence.

In August 2022, Sewa Canada International, together with NRNA Canada, NHCF Canada, and NAFA, proudly completed the renovation and construction of a new home for the girls.

Last year, with the support of our partners, NRNA Canada, NAFA, SAPNA, CNG, and Foundation FreiAide (Switzerland), we gifted a brand-new electric mini-van to Sungava Homes. Corporate partners MDSVISA Immigration Services and Everest Realty Ltd. Brokerage, along with media partners Namaste Radio, Nepal Touch, and Nepal KantiTV Toronto, made this possible.

Recently, with the help of the local government, a new school building has been constructed on Sungava’s own land. Now, Sewa Canada and NAFA have pledged to support the furnishing of this school.

We have already raised and disbursed $10,000, but an additional $10,000 is still needed to complete this project, for a cumulative target of $20,000
